Ernesto specialty coffees

This project for a well-known cafe in Brasilia involved visually translating its new business proposal.

Context

Winner of many awards, Ernesto is a known cafe in Brasilia. After five years on the market, the owner Juliana Pedro resolved to take the cafe to a new phase. New ideas arose for alterations to the menu and functional organization of the space, including a project to add a micro-bakery. Since we love challenges, we were responsible for creating a visual language to communicate this new phase of the cafe.

Challenge

Challenge

During immersion with the client, we realized that Ernesto’s clients had a strong empathy for the cafe’s physical space. We sought to maintain this. After all, a welcoming place that brings people together is the idea of a cafe, isn’t it? To preserve the unique characteristics of the place, including elements like furniture, decorations and scenes from the day-to-day operation of the space, we incorporated the new brand proposal by way of illustrations. There is nothing more intimate than hand-crafted work.

Understanding the essence of Ernesto’s ideas helped in standardizing the communication and creating a new identity, which improved brand recognition from the public and collaborators.

Result

Understanding the essence of our vision for the cafe helped establish forms of communication and creation of a new identity. And the result? A unique visual communication which is remarkable, youthful and easy for the public to identify. The drawings took on the colors of the new pallet, becoming symbols and visual compositions which were applied to bags, mugs, cups and placemats. The new typography (BommerSlab by DooType), the photography (by Anturia Vioto) and, finally, the created elements completed the new face of Ernesto Cafes.
