Dingbats Brasília
Iconography from the B side of our beloved capital, without the stereotypes and cliches.
Project selected for the 12th Brazilian Biennial of Graphic Design
Context
An integral part of the “Portrait: Brasilia” project, which mapped the creative and cultural initiatives of Brasilia. Coordinated by Bruno Porto and Santiago Mourão, the Dingbats Brasilia project seeks to spread the iconography and preserve the memory of the lesser explored cultural elements of the Brazilian capital.
Challenge
The free and easy-to-use suggested font allows anyone who wants to cherish the non-typical icons of Brasilia to develop a diverse range of projects. With a defined construction grid, we could divide the project among the team. Following the logic, it was possible to develop diverse icons.
Result
The font has been used in diverse local projects, fulfilling its role of cherishing elements that, even though they’re not so well known beyond the city, create an emotional bond with its residents. You can also use Dingbats Brasilia and show the B side of Brasilia in your own projects. Just don’t forget to give credit to Grande Circular on the layout, ok?
